DLM5000 Mixed Signal Oscilloscope

The Yokogawa DLM5000HD is a high-definition Mixed Signal Oscilloscope (MSO) designed for advanced research, development, testing, and troubleshooting of complex electronic systems.

Unlike conventional 8-bit oscilloscopes, the DLM5000HD series delivers native 12-bit vertical resolution (and up to 16 bits in High Resolution mode), allowing capture of fine voltage variations even on large-amplitude signals.

Main Application Areas

Automotive and Electric Vehicles (EV / HEV):

Inverter and motor analysis: With 8 analog channels, it can simultaneously measure voltages and currents across all three phases of an electric motor alongside gate-drive control signals.

Automotive protocol decoding: Analyzes and triggers on in-vehicle serial communication buses: CAN, CAN FD, LIN, CXPI, FlexRay, or SENT.

Power Electronics:

Measurement of switching losses and parasitic oscillations (ringing) in next-generation wide bandgap semiconductors (SiC — silicon carbide and GaN — gallium nitride). The 12- to 16-bit resolution reveals subtle on-state details without overdriving the amplifier.

Design and troubleshooting of switched-mode power supplies (SMPS), DC-DC converters, and UPS systems.

Embedded Systems and IoT:

Simultaneous correlation of analog signals (sensors, power rails) with digital logic signals (up to 32 logic channels) and standard communication buses (I2C, SPI, UART).

Transient Anomaly Diagnostics:

Deep acquisition memory (up to 1 Gpoint) and segmented History memory (storing up to 200,000 past acquisitions) enable capture of voltage sags, noise glitches, and rare intermittent errors occurring over seconds or minutes.
